Job Description:
Hi-Vac is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Welding Instructor to join our team. As a Welding Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching welding techniques and safety practices to students, apprentices, and employees at various skill levels. The ideal candidate will have hands-on welding experience, strong instructional abilities, and a passion for sharing their knowledge with others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality welding instruction in our welding processes (MIG) and related techniques along with basic blueprint reading.
- Create and maintain lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments for welding courses.
- Provide hands-on training and supervision in welding workshops, ensuring safety and proper equipment usage.
- Evaluate student progress, provide feedback, and offer guidance on skill development.
- Maintain a safe and clean training environment in compliance with OSHA and industry standards.
- Stay current with new welding technologies and methods to incorporate into the curriculum.
- Ensure all students follow proper safety protocols and use welding equipment correctly.
- Collaborate with management to develop training programs for Hi-Vac employees.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a welder with expertise in multiple welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick).
- Certification in Welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder, or equivalent).
- Prior teaching or training experience in welding or a related field is highly preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and standards related to welding and equipment usage.
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical certifications or education is a plus).
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work flexible hours if required.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on continuous learning.
