Position Description
The Taproom Manager at Hi-Wire Brewing is in charge of selecting, developing, and managing the performance of taproom employees and effectively ensuring that guests are satisfied with their Hi-Wire experience. This position is able to successfully oversee the daily operations of the taproom, manage inventory accurately, and positively engage with the local community. This is a permanent full-time, exempt position. In order to help ensure all aspects of this position are performed as expected, measurable metrics will be provided along with regularly scheduled performance reviews. This position reports to the Western Regional Taproom Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all areas of the taproom, including hiring, developing and managing the performance of employees, maintenance, and inventory
- Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents
- Serve as point person for daily decision making, scheduling, and planning, while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness
- Maintain physical taproom space, ensuring maintenance (both ongoing and emergency) are completed in a timely manner and within allotted budget
- Prepare schedules and ensure that the taproom is staffed for all shifts, filling in as needed
- Investigate and resolve complaints concerning beer quality and/or service
- Keep Supervisor promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance, positive events) and take prompt corrective action or suggest alternate courses of action, where necessary
- Be involved with the local community, attending neighborhood business meetings, participating in community events and fostering goodwill between the taproom and the community at large
- Manage taproom inventory, placing orders for beer, merchandise, and other supplies as needed
- Ensure money is handled responsibly, including making regular bank deposits and procuring sufficient change for taproom transactions
- Be fully knowledgeable of and adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
- Take a leadership role in events, effectively planning, scheduling, and preparing for events to ensure success
- Effectively communicate with the marketing team, in a timely and efficient manner, to ensure proper advertising for taproom events
- Be present for team meetings as requested
- Complete other tasks as assigned, staying within provided budgets and time frames

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in the service industry
- Preferred front-of-house management experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to multitask while maintaining a calm demeanor
- Proficiency in applicable operations management systems
- A team player with leadership skills
- Exceptional multitasking/prioritizing skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Independent/self motivated
- Problem solver with grace under pressure

- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to continually lift 65 pounds
- Must have the ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, work from heights, stoop, kneel and crouch
- The ability to work near moving parts and machinery
- The ability to work in loud, wet, cold, hot, indoor and outdoor environments frequently
