Purpose of the position
A material handler maintains production and distribution of product by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, staging finished products and making the necessary inventory transactions in the ERP / MES systems.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Maintains neat and organized inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventoryLocates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production / warehouse ordersLoad and unload material onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or material handling equipmentUtilize hand held scanner to pull production materials and supplies according to picklists, record quantities and deliver to specified locations throughout the facilityMaintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairsUtilizes appropriate material handling equipment to move materials, load and unload trucksCompletes cycle counting, as directed by the inventory policyOther duties as assignedWhat you’ll need to succeed
Education :
High School diploma or equivalent is requiredWorking experience :
