Job Summary :
Under the direct supervision of the AVP of Revenue Cycle, or designee, the Business Office Supervisor assists in the day-to-day centralized business office (CBO) operations related to billing, insurance follow-up, cash and adjustment posting, customer service, and vendor management.

- Expert knowledge of Federal, State, and County reimbursement programs and has excellent knowledge of commercial insurance and managed care contracts
- Medical terminology as related to patient services support work
- Strong knowledge of policies and procedures relating to hospital Patient Accounting activities
- Strong knowledge of principles and techniques of patient accounting and billing including Common Procedural Terminology (CPT) and ICD-9 coding
- Ability to perform technical, specialized, complex or difficult patient billing services support
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, hospital departments, insurance carriers, physicians, and co-workers
- Establish and maintain accurate and systemic records
- Excellent ability to organize work and establish priorities
- Ability to expand on own initiative in performance of duties
- Bilingual, preferred
Experience :
Minimum 5-years of experience in supervising and leading within a healthcare setting
Education :
High school graduate or equivalent
Completion of relevant college courses, preferred
