POSITION SUMMARY :
The Development Coordinator is a critical member of HIAS’ fundraising team, responsible for ensuring fundraisers have the insights, tools, and resources needed to cultivate and steward donors effectively. This role provides prospect research, data-driven reporting, and donor stewardship strategies that directly impact fundraising success.
Working cross-functionally with Fundraising, Programs, Finance, and Communications teams, the Development Coordinator ensures a seamless and strategic approach to donor engagement. This position is ideal for a highly organized, analytical, and collaborative professional with 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Conduct in-depth research on prospective donors, including individuals, foundations, corporations, bi-lateral and multi-lateral donors, to assess giving capacity, philanthropic interests, mission and project alignment, and engagement potential.
- Provide fundraisers with detailed donor profiles, briefing materials, and strategic recommendations to support cultivation and solicitation efforts.
- Leverage data tools, wealth screening platforms, and industry reports to identify new funding opportunities and donor trends amongst individual and institutional donors.
- Develop and implement thoughtful, personalized stewardship plans for donors, ensuring high-touch engagement and meaningful recognition.
- Review daily gift reports and alert various internal stakeholders and volunteers for stewardship follow up.
- Work closely with fundraisers to execute donor engagement activities, including exclusive briefings, intimate gatherings, and virtual discussions.
- Maintain and enhance donor records within the CRM system (Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or similar), ensuring accuracy in donor history, gift tracking, and engagement touchpoints.
- Generate and analyze reports to track donor pipeline activity, fundraising progress, and campaign effectiveness, offering insights to guide strategy.
- Manage list segmentation, data hygiene, and CRM optimization to improve outreach and engagement.
- Serve as a key liaison between all development teams, programs, and communications teams, ensuring alignment in fundraising messaging and donor engagement strategies.
- Support gift processing, acknowledgment tracking, and pledge fulfillment to enhance donor experience.
- Assist in scheduling and preparing materials for major donor meetings, providing fundraisers with the insights and tools they need to succeed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
