In 1965, we opened our first clinic in Winona.  Today we provide services in Winona, Houston, Wabasha, Goodhue and Fillmore counties.

TITLE: Collaborative and Mental Health Task Force Lead

JOB SUMMARY:  

Under direction of the Wabasha County Family Services Collaborative Governing Board, the purpose of this position is to coordinate various mental health activities of the Wabasha County Integrated Children’s Mental Health/Family Services Collaborative and Mental Health Task ForceThis position will facilitate community initiatives, such as ACE’s trainings and integrated mental health services within the school district and throughout the county. This position will assist in the administration of the Family Services Collaborative, the Mental Health Task Force and will seek and apply for grants to further mental health programming efforts.  

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:   

  • Ensure compliance with the Family Services Collaborative Governance Agreement to align with applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations.  
  • Schedule, plan, and facilitate the Wabasha County Family Services Collaborative Governing Board meetings and Mental Health Task Force meetings. This includes all administrative tasks related to board and committee management.  
  • Manage all aspects of the Local Collaborative Time Study, including revenue generation, audits, and time study participant training. LCTS operations include maintaining a list of LCTS participants, soliciting potential participants from county Social Services, distributing participants to collaborative partners, and providing technical training and support to LCTS participants.  
  • Organize special events and training related to service and support for children, youth, and their parents/guardians and ensure implementation of action items from the Mental Health Task Force and Community Health Needs Assessment. 
  • Research, analyze, and select evidenced-based mental health programs and trainings, i.e. ACEs training, for implementation in community agencies and schools. Effectively advocate for the use of collaborative funds to cover costs of approved trainings 
  • Advocate for, develop, support, and identify options for improving service delivery and system functioning across county, school district, and community provider systems.  
  • Demonstrate a commitment to support cultural diversity county wide, and actively supports the county’s diversity initiatives, and works to address the needs of diverse and underserved communities.  
  • Research, develop and write proposals to sustain funding for Family Services Collaborative coordinator position and to further the efforts of the Family Services Collaborative.  
  • Work closely with Family Services Governing Board and Mental Health Task Force to further the mission, vision, and values of the Family Services Collaborative and Mental Health Task Force. 
  • Develop partnerships and foster positive relationships with superintendent, community education directors, principals, school staff, parents, youth, Public Health, Social Services, and mental health agencies in the development and implementation of policies relating to children’s mental health. Promote consistent practice among agencies when responding to children’s mental health needs.  
  • In collaboration with the Wabasha County Social Services Manager and Fiscal Supervisor, gather year end annual reports from collaborative partners and submit annual collaborative report to the Department of Human Services.   
  • Promote Family Services Collaborative Board and Mental Health Task Force engagement in critical thinking, strategic planning, resource/financial development, and membership development. 
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and independence to establish major goals and objectives for the collaborative 
  • Remain well-informed of collaborative program rules and regulations, current collaborative trends, resources, and potential partnerships with other agencies.  
  • Demonstrate a willingness to coordinate with and learn from other collaboratives throughout the state. 
  • Monitor and evaluate collaborative and task force program’s success, develop a quality control process to ensure quality standards, create processes to deliver quality, review results, obtain feedback, make recommendations for changes as necessary. 
  • Promote and educate community stakeholders on the prevalence and resources surrounding behavioral health topics.  
  • Provide a single point of contact for resources to help coordinate services for adults living with mental illness for external stakeholders in the Wabasha County Community. This includes, but is not limited to corrections, law enforcement, and hospital staff.  
  • Provide monthly report on outcomes and agreed upon activities to Wabasha County Social Services Manager.  

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION:  Must be able to walk, sit, stand, crouch, twist, bend, reach overhead, maneuver stairs and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities. Must be able to move around the office on a daily basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must communicate with others and exchange information. This is primarily a sedentary position (standing and/or sitting). Employee regularly operates a computer and other office equipment on a daily basis. Occasional bending and lifting of office materials up to 30 lbs.  

 

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Perform other duties as assigned by Deputy Director.    

 

EQUIPMENT USED:  Computer, telephone/cell phone, office equipment, vehicle 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in public health, community planning, social work, psychology, sociology, human services or closely related field.  
  • Knowledge of or experience working in mental health; two years’ experience preferred. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

  • Paid Leave Time starts accruing at 4.46 hours per paycheck, with 16 hours available on hire date (pro-rated for non-FT employees). 
  • Up to 10 days of paid jury duty leave.
