In 1964, we were established by a dedicated group of concerned citizens and government officials of Houston, Wabasha, and Winona counties. In 1965, we opened our first clinic in Winona.  Today we provide services in Winona, Houston, Wabasha, Goodhue and Fillmore counties.

TITLE: Crisis Response Practitioner (Day time hours) (Goodhue County)
PROGRAM: Community Based Services
JOB SUMMARY: To provide crisis assessment, intervention and stabilization services for mental health and substance use crises.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assume responsibility for being on call for day time hours as needed
2. Respond to on-call crisis calls and assess the situation for further follow-up
3. Provide support and utilize active listening skills
4. Stay with individuals in a crisis bed setting or in their homes
5. Develop plans with individuals to assist them in restoring his/her prior functioning level following a crisis
6. Attend monthly On-Call Crisis Team meetings
7. Must be flexible with day time work hours
8. Complete the On-Call Crisis Training.
9. Possess a vehicle, valid driver license, and valid auto insurance.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION: Must be able to walk, sit, stand, crouch, twist, bend, reach overhead, maneuver stairs and stretch in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities. Must be able to move around the office on a daily basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must communicate with others and exchange information. This is primarily a sedentary position (standing and/or sitting). Employee regularly operates a computer and other office equipment on a daily basis. Occasional bending and lifting of office materials up to 30 lbs.


JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must meet minimum qualifications as a Mental Health Practitioner as outlined in MN Statute 245i.04: Sec. 245I.04 MN Statutes 
2. Experience: Must have experience with working with individuals that have had significantly reduced levels of functioning in primary activities of daily living.
3. Worker Traits: Must possess a high level of human relation skills and aptitude for effective decision making. Must possess good planning, organization, and communication skills (oral and
written) as well as problem solving skills. Must be able to handle difficult and stressful situations in a competent manner.
4. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
5. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel as needed to client or organization locations throughout SE MN.

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of conditions at client sites.

BENEFIT SUMMARY: 

  • Paid Leave Time starts accruing at 4.46 hours per paycheck, with 16 hours available on hire date (pro-rated for non-FT employees).
  • Up to 10 days of paid jury duty leave. 
  • Up to $2,000 Tuition investment and up to $1,500 continuing education funds available. 
  • Up to 5 days of paid bereavement leave. 
  • 20% YMCA membership discount OR $50 fitness reimbursement (per year). 
  • 8 paid holidays and 2 floating holidays per year (pro-rated for 20–39 hour employees). 
  •  1 paid personal day per year. 
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance is available for 30–40-hour employees. Dental insurance is free for employees only. 
  • Short term disability, long term disability and life insurance is free for 30–40 hour employees. 
  • 403b retirement account with employer contribution of 50% match up to 6%.
