SUMMARY
The Analyst, Lease Accounting is responsible for processing leases for new and existing store locations. Performs administrative duties for the lease accounting department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze leases and interpret the lease language as it pertains to the Landlords' ability to charge for certain expenses and the appropriate amounts due
Analyze and interpret leases as it pertains to the inclusion/exclusion of certain expenses in annual reconciliations ensuring only amounts due from Hibbett|City Gear are paid
Evaluate and process large quantities of annual reconciliations in adherence to the lease language and communicate discrepancies to the Landlord
Update monthly charges based on lease language determining if estimates are allowed or prior year actuals are to be used
Review expenses, payments and associated lease/amendment language in evaluating statements or Landlords' claims of balances due and communicate findings.
Review lease language with Real Estate and Legal when formal interpretations are warranted
Provide expert knowledge to other departments when renewals, amendments, etc. are being evaluated
Ensure the protection of Company information by only providing information to Landlords required by the lease
Use knowledge and lease understanding to ensure financial accountability for the Company
Coordinate with other departments on Landlord issues or concerns
Protects the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and/or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
2 - 4 years of related experience.
Strong organization and attention to detail skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Experience in Excel, Word, Outlook and TEAMS (or the like)
Experience in CoStar, Workday or comparable preferred
