SUMMARY
A Specialist, Traffic is directly responsible for the daily tasks, processes and communication as related to all areas of the Transportation Department. Provides communication and direction to stores, DSMs, and distribution operations regarding overages, shortages, and manages of merchandise. Maintains necessary traffic reports and important documents and receipts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the initial point of contact for stores, carriers, buyers, vendors, and 3rd party logistics groups regarding all transportation questions or issues. Process daily store call ins and emails for UPS and FedEx pickup.
- Interface with vendors, carriers, and brokers to resolve any problems associate with scheduling.
- Work with store son problems that may have been mis-shipped and get them to the correct store. Work with closed stores to get items picked up by UPS.
- Responsible for researching the various modes of shipping within the TMS and selecting the most cost-efficient carrier meeting our service requirements.
- Responsible for communicating authorization to ship to stores and / or vendors and tracking in-transit shipments as required.
- Responsible for researching questions regarding inventory accuracy within TMS, WMS and JDA.
- Responsible for maintaining all Hibbett Fleet records, including fuel receipts, BOL's, hotel receipts, etc. as assigned.
- Responsible for providing both scheduled and on demand reports as required. Create and process weekly and monthly reports, including reports stating the mis-shipped cartons and cost of reshipment, the 14-day report, and claims report.
- Organize and maintain all files and documents as assigned, related to assigned area of specilization.
- Responsible for over, short, and damaged issues within the total transportation network as assigned.
- Responsible for daily operation of the TMS in planning inbound and outbound loads as assigned.
- Perform and coordinate all inbound shipment activities including working with carriers, buyers, pool providers, and vendors regarding all traffic (logistics) questions or issues.
- Completes vendor violations as appropriate.
- Cross train in all areas of the transportation department.
- Protect the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control procedures and informing management and / or appropriate officials of potential fraud risk.
