Job Summary
This position is based out of Tonopah, AZ., just 45 minutes west of Phoenix. Hickman's Family Farms is looking for motivated mechanics to fill full time positions on both 1st and 2nd Shifts. As a diesel mechanic you will have the opportunity to work independently and in a team environment in the inspection, maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment, diesels, forklifts, and farm equipment. As part of the diesel mechanic team you will participate in the inspection and repairs of OTR trucks and trailers while complying with all safety regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Perform routine service of heavy equipment, diesels, forklifts and farm equipment
- Troubleshoot and diagnose heavy equipment, diesels, forklifts and farm equipment
- Diagnose, maintain and repair heavy equipment, diesels, forklifts and farm equipment
- Repair engines, transmissions, differentials, electrical, and emissions systems
- Display sense of urgency
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures and standards
- Wear personal protective equipment when required
- Perform maintenance and repairs on Class 8 trucks and trailers, including fuel injection systems, cooling systems, and more
Qualifications
- Strong background in diagnostics Mack Volvo
- 1-2 yrs. class 8- heavy duty diesel trucks and medium fleet automotive experience
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, chassis and power-train systems
- Familiar with troubleshooting and analyzing electrical/computer control systems, ABS brake system and air conditioning systems
- Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment to test and troubleshoot for proper operation before and after maintenance
- Some basic computer knowledge
- Posses own tools necessary to perform the functions of the job.
- Must be available to work weekends
