PRIMARY FUNCTION :
The Medical Director will oversee the operation and success of medical services within the Substance Use Treatment Facility and program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Must possess a Medical Board license MD / DO / RNP (State specific)
Doctorate Preferred
Must have current state and federal DEA certification
Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Ability to work as a member of a treatment team
Professional appearance, aptitude, and attitude
Impeccable ethics, integrity, and customer relations skills
Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
Computer literacy and ability to use an EMR.
Knowledge of "best practices" behavioral medicine treatment delivery and methodologies
Sound clinical judgment and decision-making skills
Ability to understand the requirements of the clientele.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Review initial client assessment and physical.
Coordinate all medical care of clients
Create process for reviewing practitioner credentials
Ensures services are available 24 hours / day in case of emergency
Ensures communication and resolution of issues related to medical care
Develops treatment plans with medical treatment teams and patients and patient's families; educates and advises on medical issues as needed.
Participates in external inspections by regulatory and accrediting agencies.
Monitors processes for accurate and timely documentation in EHR.
Evaluates the effectiveness of medical care and monitors progress of clients.
Ensures coordination of medical care with clinical, nursing, and pharmacy services
Assists practitioners with complex and special needs clients
Maintains medical records in accordance with Facility' s policies.
Assures systems in place to monitor practitioner performance expectations
Complies with federal and local requirements in the areas of protected health information and patient privacy.
Adherence to facility policy and procedures, State & Federal law, and Joint Commission accreditation regulations and standard
Maintains active
LICENSE / CERTIFICATION REQUIRED : Valid Medical Board license MD / DO / RNP (State specific) recognized by the state in which practicing.
