The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is an integral member of the treatment team, functioning as the primary conduit between client, clinical, and medical staff, working to ensure the implementation and integration of the person-centered treatment plan.

Job Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent is preferred
- Understanding of Substance Use Disorders and Dual Diagnosis
- Must maintain a positive demeanor and clear understanding of professional boundaries with clients and staff.
- Ability to follow directives explicitly, adhere to facility policies, and exercise time management skills
- Completion of CPR and HWC prior to working the floor
- Schedule flexibility may be required to accommodate patients.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participates in performance improvement activities
- Ensures clients attend groups and participate in treat
- Monitors and assists clients when they're not in group meetings, i.e., free time, hallways, common rooms, mealtime, medication pass time, smoke breaks
- Performs client room checks two times per shift including surveillance for prohibited items
- Performs client intake including drug and alcohol screens and body searches
- Monitors compliance with treatment center rules
- Assist clients with telephone use per facility policy
- Accompanies clients during smoke break at all times
- Assists nursing staff during medication pass times
- Adheres to HIPAA regulations including release of client information
- Documents shift notes, safety rounds, and client personal belongings inventory in the EM
- Performs duties for discharge including gathering all client belongings and completing the discharge checklist
- For clients discharging AMA, BHT completes the BAM, Suicide Risk Assessment, AMA questionnaire and Refusal of Treatment AMA Form when directed (When assigned the BHT Shift Lead, BHT will be the point of contact in the event the BHT Manager is absent.)
- Reports safety hazards to supervisor or Executive Director
- Performs appropriate hand hygiene throughout the shift
- Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately
Compensation: $15-18/hr
Salary : $15 - $18
