Licensed Vocational Nurse - Hickory Treatment Center at Longview

Scope of Work:
- Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will help plan and implement patient care within a designated program and administer medications to patients according to protocol.
- Under the immediate supervision of the DON, RN or ADON the LVN will be responsible for completing nursing treatments, medication administration and education, and documentation
Minimum Qualifications
- LVN must have completed a nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
- At least 2 years prior experience as an LVN preferably with hospital and behavioral health experience
- Completion of CPR and CPI within first 30 days of employment
- Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality and HIPPA compliance
- Computer proficiency, including Excel, Word, Publisher, and EMR required
- An ability to learn quickly, multi-task, and utilize effective communication skills, including both telephone and in-person
- Positive demeanor and clear understanding of professional boundaries with patients and demonstrate sound clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Completion of CPR and CPI within first 30 days of employment
- Schedule flexibility, holiday, and weekend rotation are REQUIRED
- Must hold a valid driver's license with reliable transportation
Primary Responsibilities
- Administers prescribed medication and nursing treatment plans to patients and documented occurrences in patient records
- Maintains all medications in a safe and secure manner as per facility policies and is responsible for maintaining narcotic count
- Assists in developing educational programs in areas of health maintenance, grooming, and medication management, and implements these programs in individual or group sessions
- Maintains strict client confidentiality and HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) compliance
- Adheres to training and development standards set forth by Hickory, Joint Commission, and State Regulations
- Upholds familiarity with State and Federal laws and regulations
