RN Charge Nurse– Hickory Treatment Centers at Gosport

Job Type: 2nd shift 3:00-11:00pm
About the Role:
- The RN Charge Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating client care through treatment. They participate with the nursing team to provide optimal client care, taking into consideration the population-specific needs within Hickory Network.
- Under the supervision of the DON, the RN Charge Nurse will aid in assisting the operations of the Nursing Service Department to ensure that the highest degree of quality client care is always maintained in accordance with State and Federal Regulations, facility policies & procedures, and client directives.

Job Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited school for professional nurses and licensed in good standing in the state where work will be performed.
- Valid RN license
- At least one year of experience in the nursing field.
- Satisfactory OIG exclusions and background check.
- Satisfactory personal & professional references.
- Possess & maintain current CPR certification or acquire CPR certification within 90 days of date of hire.
Key Responsibilities:
- TB testing for clients and employees, placing PPD, reading results, completing and maintaining documentation.
- Scheduling COVID testing, Vaccinations, recording and maintaining Covid documentation for clients and staff.
- Red Cap required reporting for COVID testing within the facility
- Medical Records-assisting in providing requested records as needed, confirming ROI, sending medical record requests to in-house counsel, copying records, and recording and maintaining a request log with date, time, and provider requesting records.
- Assisting with medical supplies and stock medications monthly via McKesson and/or other approved vendors.
- Assisting and facilitating clients’ schedules with medical providers as requested.
- Assisting with infection control and antibiotic tracking and monitoring, administration of flu vaccines to staff and clients, random handwashing audits, monitoring client isolation/quarantine.
- Working opposite hours of the DON to have extended coverage of the nursing staff.
- Holiday and Weekend coverage as needed and directed by the DON and per facility needs. Work schedules are subject to change as needed at the DON’s discretion and per facility needs.
- Ordering, drawing, and receiving labs as ordered by the licensed providers. Reporting critical labs to the provider and entering required documentation into the e-chart.
