About the Role:
- Under the immediate supervision of the BHT Manager, the Transportation Tech is responsible for daily transportation throughout the community we serve to and from referral partners
- The Transportation Tech is an integral member of the client discharge team, responsible for daily transportation. of clients as assigned. When not transporting clients, the Transporation Tech will serve as a Behavioral Health Technician on the floor.

Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Two or more years of service or sales experience
- An excellent driving record is required.
- Understanding of Substance Use Disorders and Dual Diagnosis
- Must maintain a positive demeanor and clear understanding of professional boundaries with clients and staff.
- Ability to follow directives explicitly, adhere to facility policies, and exercise time management skills.
- Completion of CPR and HWC prior to working the floor
- Schedule flexibility may be required to accommodate clients.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transports clients to and from facility upon intake and discharge
- Verifies client information and completes all demographics in accurate and timely manner.
- Speaks with prospective clients and completes appropriate pre-admission forms.
- Maintains a safe environment for clients, self, and co-workers.
- Reports near misses, as well as errors and accidents promptly
- Maintains confidential files and materials as directed, maintains professional boundaries.
- Fuel vehicles as needed.
- Monitor and report any noted repair needs and hazardous situations immediately.
- Follows all expectations as written in transportation policy / safe driving practice.
- Adheres to DMHA and Life Safety Code
- Adheres to Joint Commission Requirements
- Monitors HIPAA compliance
- Ensures OSHA and employee illness or injury procedures are followed.
- Ensures the department is adequately staffed by using various recruiting methods.
- Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards and regulatory laws.
- Audits the EMR for patients to ensure timely & accurate nursing documentation.
- Looks for performance opportunities and ensures PI activities are ongoing.
- Activates the Emergency Management Plan when conditions require
- Reports unsafe conditions to Executive Leadership
- Performs appropriate hand hygiene throughout the shift.
- Uses personal protective equipment (PPE) appropriately.
- Complete all required reports in a timely and accurate manner.
