Director of Early Childhood Education and Extended Care Programming
About the position
The Director is responsible for leading a Christ-centered early learning environment, ensuring high-quality education and a nurturing environment. This role involves strategic leadership, operational management, and community engagement, with a focus on integrating Christian values into the curriculum and fostering the development of children.
The Director is also responsible for the oversight of our before and after school program and summer camp which services students from kindergarten through 6 grade.
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary and strategic leadership to ensure the growth and success of the preschool.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations.
- Staffing and scheduling employees to ensure ratios are met.
- Develop and implement effective policies, procedures, and strategies to enhance the learning experience.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate teaching and support staff, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
- Uphold the Christ-centered mission and values of the preschool in all aspects of operation.
- Partner with families to cultivate spiritual and moral development in children.
- Integrate Christian principles and teachings into the curriculum and school culture.
- Ensure the delivery of a high-quality early childhood education program that meets the developmental needs of children.
- Stay current on best practices in early learning and incorporate innovative methods into the curriculum.
- Actively engage with families to build trust and foster a strong sense of community.
- Organize parent meetings, events, and opportunities for family involvement in school activities.
- Serve as the face of HRA in the broader community, building partnerships and networks.
- Manage budgets, staffing, and resources to ensure operational excellence.
- Coordinate schedules, programs, and activities to optimize learning opportunities.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and families.
Requirements
- A born again, mature believer in Christ with a strong daily walk with HIm.
- Engaged and faithful member of a local body of believers
- Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, Organizational Leadership, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategic plans.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- A deep commitment to Christian values and the ability to integrate faith into education.
- Knowledge of early childhood developmental best practices and licensing requirements.
- Initial certification and renewal of certification as a CLASS observer.
- Availability to work from 7 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday with a one-hour lunch break.
