Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant or RVT to join our team. Your passion for animals and their people will help us continue to grow a welcoming environment for both clients and their pets.
Responsibilities
- Assist with appointments and surgery, depending upon experience.
- Draw up vaccines, administer oral and injectable medication.
- Restrain pets for physical exams, diagnostics and treatments.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
- Assist with client education on pet care, preventive health measures and treatment recommendations.
- Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth operations within the clinic.
- Handle pets with Fear Free techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff.
Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience in a veterinary setting, whether it be GP, ER or at a specialty practice.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing records and schedules.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and provide compassionate care to animals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
