Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum materials to fabricate and build components and structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
- Set up and operate welding equipment, including adjusting settings for different welding processes.
- Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects on time and to specifications.
- Monitor equipment and perform basic maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Cross-train to serve as a backup in production during periods of low welding demand, which may involve performing various tasks in building aluminum dump trailers.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in MIG welding process.
- 1-3 years of experience in TIG welding process.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Knowledge of welding safety practices and procedures.
- Self-motivated, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform welding tasks.
- Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies, costs and effectiveness of work.
- Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses tables to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
