What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Engineer position at HICO America?
The Sales Engineer currently reports to the Manager of Sales Engineering and is responsible for supporting the Sales & Marketing activities across our Gas-insulated Switching Devices, FACTS Solutions and DC Transmission Solutions business. Additional divisions may be supported on an as-needed basis.
The Sales Engineer is a key contributor to our Sales Team and their primary focus will be on the complete Turn-Key solutions involving HICO offered equipment. The Sales Engineer will support the entire sales process from a technical aspect to assist with the selling of the advanced technological products and services that HICO offers. The Sales Engineer will be able to explain the benefits of our products through detailed presentations or discussions with industry experts. The Sales Engineer responsibilities include maintaining extensive knowledge of the products’ parts, functions, and processes and assisting to finalize sales where technical expertise may be required to fit the customer’s needs.
The Sales Engineer will manage the development of detailed project proposals and will ensure that these proposals are done in a timely manner and meet exceptionally high technical standards. The Sales Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and further developing relationships across the territory including the local sales representative network, customers, and internal teams with the ultimate goal of growing sales revenue and profitability. An entrepreneurial spirit and dynamic personality will succeed in this fast-paced environment collaborating with several internal and external divisions to deliver problem solving solutions to the power industry.
Key Responsibilities:
· Developing technical and commercial proposals to explain HICO’s products and services to customers on a per project basis
· Manage bid-stage design of complex substation project
· Develop and provide detailed technical presentations on HICO equipment and services to our customer base and sales network
· Technical Sales management including supporting all territory managers and sales team with Turn-Key project business
· Driving the sales team through strong selling practices to include: relationship development; time management; effective communication; product knowledge; and technical capabilities
· Set deadlines and responsibilities for all aspects of detailed proposals and ensure all proposal work is done on time
· Stay up to date with current industry trends and technical achievements and provide insight on technical and commercial equipment requirements to meet or exceed market demand
· Foster relationships with customers, industry experts and sales personnel
· Collaborating with internal procurement, engineering, accounting, and administrative teams
· Managing deadlines and being responsive
· Building your own brand with an entrepreneurial spirit
Requirements
· A bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, business administration or related field
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
