POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:
The Workforce Engagement Manager will lead the National Workforce Pipeline Program, a central component of our organizational expansion strategy. This role is accountable for ensuring our Alumni secure meaningful, thriving-wage employment placements while also pivotal in managing and expanding the network of partnerships with workforce agencies, industry leaders, educational institutions, and utilizing advanced tracking tools like Salesforce and Hidden Genius Connect to build a robust foundation for Alumni success.
The Workforce Engagement Manager (WEM) is a full-time employee responsible for empowering, activating, and mobilizing Alumni Engagement Coordinators (AECs) to build and scale a community pipeline of support for Geniuses beyond their Immersion experience. The WEM accomplishes these aims by collaborating with AECs and regional/state partner organizations to provide services and access for our Geniuses. The WEM supervises AECs, tracks key performance indicators (KPIs), and manages departmental plans to advance organizational goals. Additional responsibilities include developing local/regional networks, cultivating partnerships, identifying funding opportunities, and supporting Alumni needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
Program Development and Management: Develop, implement, and manage the National Workforce Pipeline Program, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic goals. Develop and execute region-specific plans to engage Alumni, partners, and stakeholders throughout the year.
Partnership Development: Forge and maintain relationships with industry leaders, educational institutions, and workforce agencies to ensure a broad spectrum of job opportunities for Alumni. Cultivate local and regional networks to connect Geniuses to careers, postsecondary education/training, and service/leadership opportunities.
Alumni Support: Provide continuous support, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to Alumni, helping them to succeed in their careers. Lead Alumni Engagement Coordinators (AECs) in maintaining positive relationships with Geniuses, partners, and stakeholders. Accountable in ensuring our Alumni secure meaningful, thriving-wage employment placements.
Data Management: Utilize Salesforce and Hidden Genius Connect for tracking Alumni engagement and success, adjusting the program as necessary based on data insights. Capture and analyze data to demonstrate the impact of work activities and efforts regarding Alumni engagement and success. Track outcomes and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for Alumni, partners, and stakeholders.
Team Leadership: Oversee Alumni Engagement Coordinators and coordinate efforts across multiple locations to achieve program objectives. Assess the impact of efforts to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, procedures, and practices.
Collaboration and Funding: Collaborate with key stakeholders to advance the mission and achieve professional objectives and goals. Identify funding opportunities to support the department.
Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Handle other responsibilities as assigned, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to the evolving needs of the program and its participants.
Non-Essential Functions:
Support additional organizational initiatives, community engagement efforts, and national programming as needed.
Assist with event planning, logistics, and facilitation.
General All-Staff Responsibilities:
Engage and mentor youth participants and colleagues through hands-on learning experiences.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all program participants.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to optimize program delivery.
Participate in professional development and continuous learning opportunities.
Support a broad range of operational tasks outside of the standard job scope to ensure youth success, including logistical support, crisis response, and creative problem-solving.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Required:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field; a Master's degree is desirable, but extensive relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a Master's degree.
Professional Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in workforce development, career services, or a related field, with proven expertise in program management. Candidates should have experience in at least three of the following areas:
Budget management and stewardship
Customer service and/or external affairs
Data entry, tracking, and management using spreadsheets and CRM tools, particularly Salesforce
Event planning
Project management
Supervision and management of employees
Teaching, training, and coaching adults
Workforce Development
Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, demonstrating the ability to facilitate dignified and respectful interactions.
Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership skills with the ability to independently manage teams across different geographical locations and collaborate effectively with others.
Networking Skills: Strong networking skills with a track record of building partnerships in various industries.
Availability: Flexibility to travel, work evenings, and weekends as required.
Background Check: Clearance of criminal background checks is mandatory.

Undergraduate degree or equivalent from an accredited institution (BA/BS).
ROLE OVERVIEW:
Role Location: Western Region (Los Angeles, Oakland, and Richmond, CA)
Status: Exempt
Schedule: 40 hours per week, starting April 2025, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Manages: Employees, Interns, and volunteers (including attraction and coordination tasks)

Our organization operates within a dynamic structure that supports both site-based and central team roles. Site-based team members play a key role in our 15-month youth program, with an immersive summer schedule (Monday-Friday, between 7 AM - 6 PM for seven weeks) and a structured fall schedule that includes full-time hours, one evening per week, and one Saturday per month. Meanwhile, central team members maintain a Monday-Friday schedule (typically between 7 AM - 6 PM), supporting organizational needs through strategic initiatives, cross-functional collaboration, and efforts beyond core job duties. Regardless of role, every team member contributes to our shared mission and the success of our Geniuses.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Hidden Genius Project operates in a dynamic and flexible work setting to best support our mission and the needs of our youth. We are flexible but require an onsite commitment for the first year of employment.
Site-Based Roles: Staff in these roles work from programming locations within local communities. These locations have traditionally included school sites, faith-based institutions, and other commercial or community spaces designated for youth development programs. Site-based roles require adaptability to varying facilities and settings, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for program delivery. Site-based roles have the flexibility to work remotely as approved by supervisors and within our workplace policy and program needs.
Central Team: Primarily based between our headquarters in Oakland and our Los Angeles site in CA, both feature a modern office setting. While many responsibilities are managed from a central location, team members have the flexibility to work remotely as needed and within our workplace policy. Remote work arrangements require supervisor approval, proactive communication, self-discipline, and the ability to collaborate effectively across time zones and locations.
General Work Conditions:
Requires occasional travel for site visits, events, and meetings.
Collaboration with staff, partners, and youth may extend beyond traditional work hours to meet programmatic and organizational demands.
