Position Overview :
Hidden Level is transforming airspace safety with innovative, scalable drone detection and airspace technology. We provide real-time, actionable data to enhance security across various environments. As we expand, we're looking for a Staff Software Engineer who has a proven track record of leading teams and deploying software products, and who is interested in solving challenging problems in Counter Unmanned Airborne Systems (C-UAS) and Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management (UTM). The ideal candidate will have experience working with radars and related sensor technology, an interest in UAS technology and 10 years of professional experience in software development. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated and driven team developing cutting-edge technologies that enable the safe integration of drones into everyday life and industry.
Location : Hybrid or on-site in the Syracuse, NY office.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the design, development and oversee the lifecycle of software products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, architect solutions, and implement features.
- Serve as a technical advisor and mentor to engineering teams, providing guidance on architecture, coding standards, and development methodologies.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and quality.
- Identify and address technical challenges, proposing innovative solutions to improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Implement security best practices throughout the development lifecycle to protect data and systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead initiatives to improve development processes, tools, and infrastructure, promoting automation and efficiency.

Compensation and Benefits : Hidden Level offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid parental leave, flexible time off, 401(k) with employer contributions, life insurance, disability insurance, and potential stock options.
Salary Range : The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $132,000 to $169,000 annually. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Hidden Level considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education / training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
