About:

Hidden Paradise is Idaho’s first medically accessible and adaptable camp property, which is a welcoming space designed specifically for guests with medical needs to securely connect with nature and each other.

Hidden Paradise is owned by and home to Camp Rainbow Gold, an independent nonprofit serving Idaho children diagnosed with cancer and their families. Hidden Paradise also welcomes other nonprofit organizations, programs, and retreats serving those with medical, physical, emotional, or mental health challenges as well as family and corporate retreats.

Job Description:

This is a full-time seasonal position, 40 hours per week. The job may involve working nights and weekends. A solid understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, and other crafts is necessary. Additionally, being well-versed in all maintenance processes and health and safety regulations is essential. The goal is to ensure this unique and impactful 172-acre property is well-cared for, supporting its mission to provide safe, accessible, and welcoming experiences for all participants.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain, clean, and ensure the safety of all property infrastructure, including buildings, utilities, roads, and grounds.
• Operate and maintain a Public Water & Sewage System.
• Perform irrigation and water system repairs and upkeep, including ditches, head gates, and pipes.
• Maintain and manage camp equipment (e.g., backhoe, trailers, side by side, mowers).
• Complete maintenance and repairs promptly and cost-effectively.
• Ensure property security and maintain security systems.
• Implement preventative maintenance programs and suggest process improvements.
• Preserve and enhance property value and integrity.
• Organize and oversee volunteer work groups, ensuring tools are prepared and safety standards are met.
• Inspect buildings weekly to identify and address issues.
• Manage seasonal opening and closing of facilities, including infrastructure systems and storage.
• Support lease groups with setup, maintenance, garbage removal, campfires, and other requests.
• Load and unload deliveries as needed.
• Implement pest control programs and monitor propane, fuel usage, and deliveries.
• Manage supplies, tools, and inventory within budget guidelines.
• Coordinate waste removal (e.g., dumpsters, porta-potties).
• Ensure compliance with American Camp Association facility standards.
• Perform additional projects assigned.

April 1 – October 31, 2025

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in maintenance, including planning operations.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and complete projects.
• Strong understanding of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, and facility equipment.
• Ability to track and report daily maintenance activities.
• Capable of lifting and carrying 50 pounds (e.g., unloading food, lifting supplies/equipment).
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or degree in facility management preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Able to work well with diverse teams and backgrounds.
• Integrity, credibility, and passion for Hidden Paradise and Camp Rainbow Gold's mission.
• Professional demeanor and discretion in handling confidential information.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check.

Compensation:

The pay scale for this position is $25 per hour living off-site/ $23 per hour with on-site housing.
