What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hidden Ponds Crew position at Hidden Ponds Nursery?
Provide exceptional service to HPN customers. Provide plant knowledge, area climate, pest, soil knowledge customers. Complete daily tasks and one-off task as assigned.
Responsibilities
1. Ensure daily nursery jobs get done.
2. Customer Service
a. Greet and walk the floor with all customers who want it
b. Assist customers with loading purchases into their vehicles.
c. Ensure someone is always near the Pay Station so customer does not have to wait or wonder.
d. Provide plant, soil, animal, and weather knowledge to customers.
3. Ensure tasks you are assigned are accomplished in a 24 hour period during the week and by end of day Monday for tasks that come in during the weekend.
4. Store and plug in golf carts when not in use.
5. All things, including golf carts, that need to be fixed will require a work order (see form)
6. Opening and/or closing the nursery.
a. Gates unlocked/locked.
b. Carts put away.
c. Anything out of place on the floor, put in its proper place.
d. Trash cans empty.
e. Potty Shed stocked and clean.
f. All golf carts put away, plugged in and door closed.
g. All equipment and tools put away.
7. Unload trucks, price and put out inventory on floor.
8. Operate POS
9. Keep Tables, Shrubs, Grasses, and Trees – neat, trimmed and deadheaded. All sick or dead plants need to be dealt with accordingly.
10. Ensure nursery is clean and clear of garbage.
11. Ensure all product has price tag or equivalent.
12. Water plants on regular schedule or as needed.
13. Feed animals
14. Help in Cutting Garden as needed.
15. Assist HPN Manager and Crew Leader to pull product for jobs and set up in staging area
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 9 per week
