Salary : $60k-$70k (could be higher for the right individual)

Summary
Performs design work, usually for a major project or several minor projects, simultaneously, under general direction of their immediate supervisor.
Essential Job Functions
- Responsible for converting project information (e.g. specifications, general sales order information, data sheets, etc.) into drawings and other documentation that manufacturing then uses to produce a product.
- Identifies deviations in job scope, estimates magnitude of changes, and notifies the appropriate parties.
- Assures that design continuity is maintained throughout the entire project.
- Ensures communication flow, both verbal and written, is maintained within engineering and with other design and engineering disciplines.
- Executes quality control procedures.
- Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position
- Overtime is a mandatory condition of employment and frequent in this position
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies)
Strong AutoCAD and Inventor skillsStrong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of programs.Must be able to work on multiple tasks with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.Good English oral & written communication skillsShows initiative to perform duties beyond assignment-specific duties.Knowledge of engineering principles and techniquesKnowledge of various fabrication methods and installation proceduresA broad understanding of a wide spectrum of materials, their characteristics and their tolerances and limitationsA general understanding of the operation of various mechanical systems.Education and Experience
A two-year college degree in design, drafting or similar degree program is preferred. Without the degree a minimum of 2 years' experience is required.
