Position Overview
HiFyve is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations, ensuring safety, efficiency , and high equipment uptime . This hands-on role will lead a team of skilled maintenance technicians, providing direction, troubleshooting support, and expertise for plant equipment, including PLCs, VFDs, Servos, and HMIs .
Job Responsibilities
Lead and direct the day-to-day activities of the maintenance workforce.
Provide direction and assign maintenance tasks to technicians while overseeing quality of work performed.
Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager to review and optimize planning and scheduling.
Coordinate and communicate maintenance schedules and activities with operations to minimize equipment downtime.
Evaluate technician skills and recommend training or development opportunities as needed.
Oversee inventory management of spare parts and supplies to support maintenance activities.
Implement and manage preventive maintenance programs for critical equipment.
Provide hands-on leadership for mechanical repairs, installations, and capital improvement projects .
Supervise the electrical setup and installation of new or relocated machinery .
Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, including servo motors, pumps, gearboxes, steam, and ammonia systems.
Analyze equipment issues to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Manage technician schedules, timecards, and work assignments.
Required Competencies
Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems effectively.
Proficiency in root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to supervise and train maintenance staff while fostering a collaborative environment .
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, charts).
Technical knowledge of PLCs, digital / analog sensors, and hydraulic / electrical systems.
Experience with servo motors, encoders, gearboxes, pumps, steam, and ammonia systems.
Effective project management and planning skills.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory / leadership experience in a maintenance role.
Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
Experience in food facilities is a plus .
Experience with blow molding , ammonia systems , and boiler systems is a plus .
Prior union experience is also a plus .
