What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Lines Account Manager Trainee position at Higginbotham?
The Commercial Lines Account Manager Trainee will acclimate to the insurance industry initially through the Best Account Management (BAM) training course. The course is designed to help early career professionals gain knowledge in 3 phases:
- BAM I - General Introduction to Insurance industry;
- BAM II - Coverages and technical tools used at our organization in client service, and;
- BAM III - How to execute tasks in client service or account management (i.e. Endorsements, Policy Changes, issuing certificates, marketing, etc), direct shadowing of working professional.
Essential Tasks:
- Participants will complete all 3 phases of the BAM training program
- Participants will obtain licensure as required
- At the completion of the program, participants will be placed within the Business Insurance line of business based on their performance

Support daily servicing needs of a commercial insurance book (COIs, endorsements, billing, renewals)

Work directly with clients and carriers to ensure timely, accurate service

Track action items and drive follow-ups to completion

Assist in renewal prep and new business marketing

Learn coverage forms and become a trusted technical resource

Collaborate with senior producers and account executives on strategy

Experience and Education:
- Commercial insurance experience preferred, but not required
Licensing and Credentials:
- Active FL-220 Property & Casualty license preferred, but not required (company will help individual obtain licensure if they are not licensed prior to onboarding)
Systems:
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Applied Epic experience preferred, but knowledge of similar Account Management System (AMS) is acceptable
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Repeated use of sight to read documents and computer screens
- Repeated use of hearing and speech to communicate on telephone and in person
- Repetitive hand movements, such as keyboarding, writing, 10-key
- Walking, bending, sitting, reaching and stretching in all directions
