Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Lifeguard to ensure the safety of all patrons at our aquatic facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong swimming skills, a commitment to maintaining a safe environment, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations. As a Lifeguard, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent guest services while monitoring pool activities and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide excellent service to all students, families, and co-workers
- Create and maintain a welcoming, caring and professional environment for all
- Work in a team environment, build and maintain healthy, cooperative relationships
- Communicate positively and effectively with the Swim Instructors and Director of Aquatics
- Adhere to all policies and procedures both organizationally and departmentally
- Knowledge of EAP and role
- Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules and regulations
- Participate in regular in-service training sessions
- Assist in setting up and taking down equipment for programs
- Perform rescues, first aid and resuscitation
- Ensures that swimmers and families are well supervised and the highest safety standards are maintained in the pool and on decks.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the the pools, facility and equipment.
- Maintain equipment in good working order while repairing any broken equipment
- Complete additional duties as assigned by their supervisor
Qualifications:
- Current Lifeguard certification (American Red Cross, YMCA or other Nationally recognized certification). No online only certification.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- Satisfactory Criminal Reference Check
- Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR and AED certified, can be provided by High 5Lifeguard Instructor training a plus
- See program participants in need of assistance from any distances
- Hear and distinguish a variety of sounds in a noisy environment such as participants in need of assistance, whistles, or co-workers requesting assistance in a rescue effort
- Perform work, which involves frequent lifting, pushing and pulling of heavy objects
