High Country Behavioral Health is seeking a part-time and full-time Behavioral Health CNA for our Mental Health Residential Facility, Solutions House, in Douglas, WY. The Solutions House is a psychiatric rehabilitation program for adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
Shifts are 12 hours and scheduled 7:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m, and range from dayshift to nightshift, including weekends. Must be available to attend orientation with a mutually agreed upon training schedule and then transition to a regular schedule.
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Group Home Coordinator, the Behavioral Health CNA performs selected patient care activities. The Behavioral Health CNA is a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, responsible to carry out rehabilitation and support functions such as psychosocial rehabilitation programming, treatment planning, education, support, consultation with families, and providing crisis intervention under the direction of the clinical staff. Additional duties include but are not limited to, collaboration with case managers and external treatment teams, processing utilizations, admission, and discharge paperwork, and preparing reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily care activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and eating.
- Document medication intake and ensure clients are taking their medications as prescribed.
- Assist with shopping and meal planning to ensure clients have access to healthy food options.
- Provide transportation to appointments and community activities.
- Monitor clients for any changes in behavior or medical conditions and report any concerns to medical staff.
- Engage clients in therapeutic activities such as art, music, and exercise.
- Help clients develop and maintain daily routines and schedules to promote stability and well-being.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience
- Must have completed a state-approved CNA program and hold a CNA certification
- Minimum of 6 months full-time experience as a CNA within the last year.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Medication Assistant Certificate (preferred, not required)
- Previous experience working with individuals in behavioral health preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and customer service in all interactions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to establish rapport with clients.
- Clear driving record.
- Successful completion of HCBH pre-employment screening and background check.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, stand, sit, and use the hands. Occasionally stoop, crouch, or kneel. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 25 pounds.
