What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foreperson position at High Country Fence?
This position is based out of High Country Fence corporate office in Pueblo, Colorado, and involves working in the following key function areas: Project Management, Crew Management, and Equipment & Auto Maintenance. High Country Fence provides various fence construction services for commercial, agricultural, and residential clients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Project Management:
- Communicate regularly with the Superintendent for direction and assistance.
- Develop a plan and systems to ensure the speed and quality of fence construction while following projected schedules.
- Adhere to and implement project plans and specifications.
- Communicate with clients and the office as needed.
- Report on project progress and discuss project needs with the Project Manager or Superintendent.
- Report any issues or concerns regarding the project to the Superintendent or Project Manager.
- Complete and submit daily reports on project progress, and other required paperwork to clients by designated due dates (which may be subject to change).
- Submit receipts and documentation for financial tracking of project expenses.
Crew Management:
- Establish work schedules for crew members and ensure they are consistently engaged with tasks to complete projects.
- Train new employees in the specific work they will be performing.
- Lead daily safety meetings and ensure completion of assigned safety training for all crew members.
- Monitor crew members' adherence to safety protocols and enforce these standards.
- Lead by example and maintain a positive work environment for the crew.
- Exercise authority to release crew members who fail to comply with company policies.
- Maintain communication with upper management about issues requiring attention.
- Collect, review, and submit employee timesheets daily.
Equipment & Auto Maintenance:
- Perform regular oil changes and general maintenance on primary and site vehicles.
- Communicate maintenance needs for vehicles and equipment to the office.
- Ensure all tools, trailers, and equipment are inspected for safety and properly maintained.
- Ensure that all equipment and tools are in working order and secured properly during transit.
- Submit weekly auto and equipment inspections.
- Turn in receipts and maintenance records for vehicles and equipment to the office every Friday.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Foreman or in a supervisory role in construction or similar fields.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate a team to achieve project goals.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, management, and crew members.
- Experience with project scheduling and adhering to deadlines.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to enforce them.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
TECHNOLOGY, EQUIPMENT & TOOLS:
- Proficient with standard office equipment, including computers, phones, scanners, tablets, and copiers.
- Familiarity with construction project management software or tools.
- Experience with tools, equipment, and vehicles used in fence construction and maintenance.
- Familiarity with vehicle inspection tools and systems.
- Ability to use communication devices such as radios or mobile phones to stay in contact with the team and management
TRAVEL:
- Travel is required for this position, with the ability to travel to job sites throughout North America.

COMPENSATION: $26.44 - $38.46 hourly
