Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Manager/Field Instal Manager to oversee our manufacturing processes and ensure the efficient production of high-quality products. The ideal candidate will have expertise in welding techniques, sheet metal fabrication, product installation, customer-facing skills, and adherence to industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate fabrication activities to meet production goals
- Supervise a team of fabricators and welders to ensure quality workmanship (working side our other shop manager)
- Interpret cut lists and implement fabrication procedures accordingly
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and equipment
- Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with codes and standards
- Operate hand tools, calipers, cranes, forklifts, and other equipment as needed
- Oversee the assembly of fabricated components
- Train welders on proper fabrication techniques
- Lead on Instal projects
- Talk to customers in a professional manner
Requirements:
- Proficiency in FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), stick welding, and sheet metal fabrication
- Knowledge of rigging practices and crane operation (not required)
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards
- Ability to use measuring tools and calipers for precise measurements
- Experience assembling fabricated components using hand tools
- Competence in forklift operation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Strong customer service skills
