Our client is a dynamic middle market private equity firm seeking an exceptional Vice President of Finance and Accounting to join their team.
The Company
This firm operates with a lean structure, comprising around 10 dedicated professionals primarily focused on investment and operations. They manage approximately $300 million in Assets Under Management (AUM) and are actively engaged in raising a new capital pool.
The Role
As the VP of Finance & Accounting, you will play a pivotal role as a standalone professional, supporting the company across three major areas of responsibility :
Corporate Accounting
Develop, monitor, and execute annual business plans for all entities.
Evaluate and enhance existing financial transaction systems by refining the chart of accounts and establishing robust policies and procedures.
Prepare and present monthly financial statements and comprehensive reporting packages.

Fund Accounting
Collaborate with a third-party fund administrator to oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for multiple investment funds and management companies.
Finance Operations
Manage all aspects of Financial Planning, Analysis, and Reporting functions.
Prepare financial and performance reports for executive leadership and senior management, specifically conducting corporate-level budget versus actual variance analyses and developing platform-level reporting packages in collaboration with the leadership team.
Qualifications
5 to 7 years of experience in accounting and / or financial leadership roles, with a strong preference for 2 to 3 years in public accounting.
Experience in private equity is preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
Self-motivated, resourceful, and ambitious approach to work.
Results-oriented, with a strong focus on execution and meeting deadlines.
Eagerness to take on multiple responsibilities and contribute in various areas.
Highly detail-oriented with exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CFA credentials are preferred.
