What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underground Utility Laborer and Lead position at High Desert Broadband?
High Desert Broadband is seeking hard working, motivated and self reliant individuals to be a part of our underground construction team.

The position consists of general construction labor/ utility work; this may include various forms of labor such as trenching, shoveling and equipment operating. The position may also require the candidate to assist in locating utilities for an operator and assisting with any other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the crew foreman/supervisor.
Lead's will have the ability to the required duties above and must also be able to give clear direction and provide supervision to the crew. Lead's MUST have a valid drivers license and a driving record.
Crew: Starting at $21/hr DOE
Lead: Starting at $24/hr DOE

Responsibilities:
- Hand dig using shovel, mechanical tools
- Install and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling - Fiber and Coax
- Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, cars, trenchers, etc.)
- Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
- May need to be able to pull a trailer with heavy machinery attached
- Working in congested or remote areas
- Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
- Perform general construction work under direction of Foreman/Supervisor
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License
- Underground construction experience a plus but not required
- Must be able to effectively communicate with the crew.
- Be available to work overtime
- Maintain a positive attitude with the team.
- Maintain good public relations (interact with the public in a courteous manner)
- Must have reliable transportation
- Basic ability to use small tools/hand tools
- Must have strong physical endurance for hot weather conditions, repetitive bending, stooping, lifting, transferring equipment and materials up to 70 pounds.
- Keep appropriate documentation (time cards, job cost, etc.)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
