Summary:
The Career Services Coordinator is responsible for completion of the required Career Services touch points, the career and professional development process and meeting graduate employment goals of their assigned students.
The Career Services Coordinator must be able to network and build relationships with local employers and community organizations. You will be attending events such as college/career fairs, school and community organization visits, on-campus and other events as directed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Build brand awareness through the local areas to generate interest in Legacy Educations programs.
- Assist graduates in securing education-related employment through developing their employment search skills in resume writing, interviewing, networking etc., along with developing their ability to enter the workforce with professional soft skills such as arriving to work on time, dressing appropriately etc.
- Meet or exceed graduate employment goals/benchmarks as set by our national accreditation agency.
- Maintain an employment rate of at least 70%, an extern-to-hire rate of 50% or more, an externship start of 70% and high student-satisfaction ratings at all times.
- Accurately complete and document all required Career Services touch points in adherence with Legacy Educations policies and procedures.
- Accurately document, track and ensure completion of all new hire’s completion and placement forms.
- Building relationships and network to enhance student outreach.
- Plans and participates in student/alumni activities, Career Fairs, Advisory Boards, Program Reviews, Graduation Ceremonies, Open House events, and other related activities.
- Maintains knowledge of all programs to answer employer’s prospective applicant’s questions for hire.
- Planning event calendars and ordering necessary materials.
- Communicate with campus departments regarding regional opportunities.
- Maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Adheres to all regulatory compliance and procedures.
- Maintain contact with all graduates requiring employment assistance bi-weekly.
- Collect and verify all immunizations in preparation for externship.
- Perform career and professional development workshops for all students to prepare them to enter the workforce.
- Conduct an introductory meeting with each student upon starting; meet with students once during each module.
- Ensures accurate data entry and reporting of all department related activities on students and graduates into company database.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; three to six months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. College degree preferred.
- Sales and Career Services experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to demonstrate written and verbal persuasiveness.
- Knowledge of job application process, interview procedures, and resume writing.
- Fluent in social networking and other high-tech communication paths.
- Ability to motivate and influence change with an appropriate level of persistence.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Innovative and ability to think outside the box when generating new hire opportunities.
- Ability to work evening and weekend hours as necessary.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
