What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Supervisor position at High Hampton?
The primary goal of this position is to provide leadership on a nightly basis and to lead the team each night after Managers have departed. Maintain a positive attitude around all team members, setting the mood for that shift. Inspect all turn-downs and clean rooms to make sure that the High Hampton Standards have been met.
Must have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Runs the day-to-day reports for the team & be able to clarify reports, as needed
- Holds lineups with your team covering the # of guest rooms currently occupied, # of arrival rooms, and departure rooms, # of turnovers, make-ups, and Check ins / turnovers
- Plans evenings according to the dining times of guests
- Coordinates in-room guest requests
- Review groups currently in-house and their agenda to ensure all needs are met
- Cleans of the common areas and other assigned areas
- Oversees completion of all room make-ups and turnovers and performs final inspections after rooms have been cleaned
- Loads stocker cart with daily supplies such as sheets, towels, toilet paper, amenities, glasses, coffee cups, hangers, napkins, light bulbs, robes, etc.
- Inspects nightly turn-down rooms and common areas, coaching the team when necessary
- Picks up and safely delivers laundry van, obeying traffic safety laws, each day and night
- Assists in cleaning check out and staying over rooms as necessary
- Assists with Quarterly inventories as necessary
- Writes and disseminates all Mid-Year and End of Year reviews to all PM team members
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance is required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members and managers and interact with our guests.
QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- None
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Hospitality experience or equivalent preferred
- Basic computer knowledge
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic knowledge and understanding of math
REASONING ABILITY
- Must be able to understand scheduling, purchasing, inventory, and stock
- Must be able to think and make decisions quickly
- Be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
- Must be able to work long shifts
- Must be able to stand or walk for long periods
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart
