What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at High Hampton?
The Maintenance Tech is responsible for the maintenance of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, water, tool, room, kitchen, and common areas. This person must be able to assess any maintenance-related problem to minimize internal and external guest inconvenience.
Must have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for exterior lighting
- Changes dimmer switches, wall plugs, breakers, lights, fixtures, and light sockets in lamps
- Changes elements and fuses in water heaters
- Changes O-rings and vacuum switches in whirlpool tubs
- Repairs and general maintenance of shower and tub areas
- Repairs and general maintenance of commodes
- Changes batteries tires, and lights and checking brakes on golf carts
- General overall repair and maintenance of golf carts
- Changes ceiling and floor registers
- Changes thermostats
- General maintenance of filters
- Winterization of all outdoor HVAC units
- Changes oil, filters, tires, and lights in all property vehicles including mowers, ATVs, trucks, and vans
- Checks belts and filters
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance is required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members and managers and interact with our guests.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- None
EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Should have some courses in vocational tech or applicable work experience related to the position
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Must be able to communicate effectively with vendors, guests, team members, and managers
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Basic knowledge and understanding of math
REASONING ABILITY
- The ability to think outside the box and to place interim measures in effect to minimize downtime of essential services
- Must be able to troubleshoot various systems, with the objective being to repair and minimize downtime for guests and employees
- Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- May be required to work outside in all weather conditions
- May be asked to drive a company vehicle or golf cart
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- 1,400 acres of High Hampton property
