*Duties*
As a Behavior Technician, you will be responsible for providing direct support and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities. Your main duties will include:
- Support Individuals with an Intellectual/Developmental Disability in their home.
- Transport individuals to their medical appointments, case management meetings, leisure activities and other places which the individual needs and wants to travel
- Assisting with the assessment and evaluation of clients
- Supporting ADL / IADL supports including hygiene support, bathing supports, support after using the bathroom. Supporting in meal preparation, scheduling daily reminders, and support on other duties regarding individual independent supports.
-Provide active community engagement, coaching, and other social activities to best support the individual in their own community.
-Work closely with the state individual service plan to assure all outcomes and goals are being supported on a daily and/or weekly basis
- Collaborating with the treatment team to ensure consistent implementation of interventions
- Assisting with the development of individualized treatment plans
- Monitoring and reporting any changes or concerns in client behavior or progress
*Skills*
To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and techniques
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to developmental disabilities
- Appropriate usage of cell phone / Electronic health record / usage of applications on smart phones
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
- Proficiency in collecting and analyzing data related to client behavior and progress
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, families, and the treatment team
- Ability to effectively communicate with managers, participate in supervision, and use tools to complete the tasks.
-Support individuals in the community to include transportation to medical appointments, leisure activities, grocery shopping, and errands, and build community skills to find healthy options in integration.
-Appropriate transportation, high school diploma, ability to pass a background check are a MUST.
