The Director of Accounts Receivable will play an instrumental role in our growing activewear business through managing financial operations, ensuring efficient credit management, and optimizing collections processes. This person will work closely with our Finance team and cross-functional partners. We’re seeking a candidate who is strategic, has expertise in credit and collection management within the wholesale industry, and exemplifies leadership qualities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement credit policies tailored to wholesale operations
- Manage credit risk through assessing creditworthiness of customers and establishing appropriate credit limits with our external credit partner
- Perform collections and oversee the collections process through resolving payment disputes quickly and efficiently
- Work cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Accounting, and Logistics to ensure prompt chargeback resolutions and address payment challenges proactively
- Build strong relationships with customers and external partners to facilitate effective communication and resolution of credit and collections issues
- Continuously review and improve credit and collections processes to optimize, enhance efficiency, reduce delinquencies, and streamline operations
- Develop KPI dashboard reporting to monitor chargebacks and collections
- Prepare weekly reporting on collections and chargeback resolutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 15 years of proven experience in credit and collections management
- Experience with mass retailers
- Experience in consumer goods wholesale (apparel preferred)
- Strong understanding of credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and collections strategies
- Proficiency in financial software and tools; experience with SAP a plus
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Annual salary range starting at $130,000
