Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Arborist / Tree Climber to handle a variety of tree care tasks, including pruning, removal, and maintenance. This position is ideal for an individual with a passion for working outdoors, a strong understanding of tree care, and the ability to work at heights. As part of our team, you'll be responsible for performing technical climbing, pruning, and removal operations safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform tree climbing, pruning, and removal using modern techniques.
- Use chainsaws, chippers, and other tree care equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ensure that all jobs are completed in compliance with safety standards, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work with ground crew to ensure safe and efficient worksite operations.
- Provide high-quality customer service, answering client questions and addressing concerns professionally.
- Maintain and inspect equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Safely operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment on job sites.
- Educate clients on tree care best practices and maintenance.
Qualifications:
- 1 years of experience as a professional Arborist or Tree Climber.
- Certification from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) or the desire to work toward certification.
- Strong knowledge of tree species, growth patterns, pruning techniques, and safe climbing methods.
- Proficiency with climbing and rigging equipment, including ropes, harnesses, and rigging tools.
- Ability to perform tree removals and pruning at various heights safely and efficiently.
- Familiarity with chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, etc.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in various weather conditions.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Skills:
- ISA Certified Arborist
- CTSP.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience with crane-assisted tree removals.
- Knowledge of tree pest and disease identification and treatment.
- Ability to train and mentor junior arborists or ground crew.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in challenging outdoor conditions, including heights, cold, heat, and inclement weather.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials (50 lbs).
- Ability to climb trees, use ropes, and work at heights for extended periods.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform strenuous tasks throughout the day.
