We provide high-quality tree removal, pruning, and maintenance services. We are currently looking for a Tree Care Ground Worker to join our team.
Job Overview:
As a Tree Care Ground Worker with High Lonesome Timber, you will be responsible for assisting our ISA Certified Arborists with all aspects of tree care and maintenance. This role requires a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to perform physical tasks in a team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will be dependable, safety-conscious, and eager to contribute to the success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist tree climbers and arborists in pruning, trimming, and removing trees safely.
- Operate and maintain ground-based equipment, including chainsaws, excavators, skid steers, brush chippers, stump grinders, and more.
- Manage the removal of tree debris, ensuring that work sites are kept clean and safe.
- Safely load and unload equipment and materials at job sites.
- Help prepare the work area by setting up safety zones and traffic control measures.
- Support team members with rigging and climbing operations as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist in transporting tools and materials to and from job sites.
- Maintain and inspect tools and equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring that all job sites are clean and organized at the end of each job.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in landscaping, forestry, or tree care is preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50 lbs) and work in physically demanding conditions.
- Basic knowledge of tree care equipment and safe handling practices.
- A strong commitment to safety and following OSHA regulations.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the tree care industry.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions (rain, heat, cold).
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with chainsaw and/or equipment operation.
- Arborist certification or an interest in pursuing certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of tree species and basic tree care.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, and carrying heavy materials.
- Comfortable working in outdoor settings.
- Ability to work under varying weather conditions and in rugged environments.
