Forklift Operator/Machine Operator

High Mountain Processing is Colorado's only producer or wood fuel pellets. We are currently looking for an eager and responsible individual to work the second shift at our wood pellet mill operation in Walden, Colorado.

Forklift experience is necessary for this position but the successful candidate will have a history of job stability and demonstrated the ability to learn new tasks.

The fuel pellet mill employs 12-15 people and is a market leader with well-established regional products. We are looking for the individual that wants to be part of the success of the team and the goals of the company. When you start with us, you will be responsible for operating a forklift, learn to operate production and bagging equipment, and load trucks and other tasks in support of the smooth operations of the mill.

Job Responsibilities:

Safety – You will need to follow work practices that conform to the company’s safety policies and procedures as well as federal, state and local regulations.

Production – As a member of the second shift production team you will be performing tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the plant including production, safety, equipment maintenance and cleaning.

Equipment – In addition to operating a forklift, you will learn to operate a variety of manufacturing equipment including pellet mill production and bagging equipment.

Housekeeping – You will help maintain a clean work environment in the plant.

Required Skills and Experience

Ability to Operate or Learn to Operate Equipment – We are looking for candidates that have experience operating a forklift as a minimum. This job does not require any prior manufacturing experience. You will receive on-the-job training. The successful candidate will have those characteristics that enable him/her to learn and grow on the job.

Physically capable – Ability to meet physical requirements of the job including long periods of standing, bending, and lifting objects, occasionally up to 50 lbs. Exposure to ambient temperatures.

Job Location ****RELOCATION IS REQUIRED****

Walden, Colorado. The job is located in Walden, CO. If you are not living in the area, the company will help you relocate by providing temporary housing during your first month of employment. Company housing is available for rent for the successful candidate.

Position Type

Full-Time - Second shift. The company typically operates on two 12 hours shifts, 5 days per week. This job is for the 6:00 pm to 6:00 am shift.

Salary

$18.00 per hour. Generally, there are 15-20 hours of built-in overtime at $27 per hour. Gross pay with the 60 hours is over $5,000 per month. This position includes full benefits after 60 days.
