We are seeking a positive and engaging person to join our Operations Support team as a Loan Operations Specialist, working from any of our five Colorado locations.

You play a key role in processing, updating, and maintaining loan transactions, exceptions and documents within our systems. Your work is essential to managing risk, supporting excellent customer experiences, enabling business growth, and ensuring data integrity and compliance.

The Day to Day
Your daily tasks will include processing loan payoffs, managing collateral, handling transactions, and maintaining records. You'll participate in team rotations for various communication channels. You'll also be involved in reporting, payments, and other operational duties.
This role offers opportunities to grow beyond loan products through cross-team projects and involvement in improving our tools and operations. There is potential to work with AI as well. You'll use a variety of systems, including our core banking system, loan platforms, data storage systems, third-party platforms, and Google Suite.
This role reports to the Director of Operations Support and does not have direct reports.
What you bring to High Plains Bank
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in banking or financial services
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Data entry
- Ability to maintain organized and accurate records
- Basic accounting principles
- Ability to identify errors
Desirable Skills and Knowledge
- Familiarity with the loan origination process and systems
- Ability to analyze financial documents and assess loan applications
- Understanding of the distinctions between consumer, commercial, and agricultural loans
- Basic financial regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to track loan collateral
Responsibilities of the Position
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate internally using our ticketing system, support the team’s communication portal coverage, and drive process improvement.
- Process, update, and maintain various deposit/loan-related transactions, exceptions, and documents within the appropriate platforms.
- Address, process, and resolve deposit/loan payment exceptions and returns promptly within the appropriate platforms.
- Execute loan payoff procedures and manage related documentation with precision.
- Maintain accurate internal and third-party reporting/payments.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in rotations for tickets, emails, phones, and google spaces
- Participate in cross-functional collaboration for improvement
- Perform all maintenance to loans after booking, with the exception of CIT Maintenance
- Scan and properly store all documents associated with loans
- Escrow invoices
- Reams schedules
- E-Title management, including processing e-titles/perfecting titles
- Collateral management exceptions; may include vehicle, home, and flood
- Process loan payoffs
- Coordinate release of titles and promissory notes
- Coordinate collateral releasing
- Credit Reporting including disputes and corrections
- LSI payment and reporting
- Invoice management; may include appraisals, evaluations, and coupons
- Escrow/Ream payments
- Participation loan payments

Target compensation range
- $18.00-$25.00 per hour based on experience and qualifications - other factors may be considered
