Role:
Responsible for customer service, exhibit maintenance and fabrication in the Children’s Innovation space at LINC. Maintains the functionality and appearance of exhibits and creates an inventory of consumables. This position provides support across the department and works with team members to complete projects on time and to the highest quality.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
35% - PATRON ASSISTANCE – Serves as the first point of contact for patrons in assistance with using the Children’s Innovation space. Provides information and instructions on various exhibits. Provides one-on-one assistance upon request. (Essential)
30% - MAINTENANCE OF CHILDREN’S INNOVATION EXHIBITS & EQUIPMENT - Accountable for maintaining, cleaning, repairing, and improving all existing experiences. Conducts scheduled and reactive exhibit repairs and participates in maintaining the health, performance, and enhancement of existing exhibits. Responsible for managing the inventory of consumables and regularly refreshing exhibit supplies. (Essential)
15% - FABRICATION & INSTALLATION - Performs in-house fabrication and finishing departmental projects. Working with the team, the ES supports planning and timelines for exhibit fabrication and installation, ensuring this phase of the process is done in an orderly, timely and minimally disruptive manner. This work also includes responsibility for the maintenance of a clean, safe shop during the fabrication process. (Essential)
15% - IN-BRANCH PROGRAMMING - Under the guidance of a supervisor, develops informative and entertaining passive and active programs by using project management and outcomes-based planning and evaluation tools; assists in delivering programs to audiences within the library; builds & maintains relationships with community partners; assists Community Relations and Marketing with recruiting attendees to provide benefit to patrons, to promote use of library resources and represent the library district to the community. 5% - OTHER DUTIES – Assists with providing website content, creating displays, and promoting the Children’s Innovation Space within LINC. Improving and expanding community engagement; Assists Supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of the department. (Non-Essential)
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
Associate’s Degree
Experience:
One year of similar or related experience
Able to read, write, and speak Spanish fluently (preferred)
Or any combination of education and experience which provides the success factors.
