Location: Hays, KS
Pay: $22.36 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time, in-person

Hours: M-F; 8am-5pm (on-call rotation)

High Plains Mental Health Center is looking for a dedicated CBS/CSS Recovery Specialist (Case Manager) to join our team and help support individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness and Severely Emotionally Disturbed youth. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to be part of a supportive team focused on delivering high-quality mental health services.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and coordinate an array of supports for patients and their families, helping them achieve treatment plan goals.
  • Assist in delivering psychosocial rehabilitation group activities under the guidance of the Recovery Specialist III and the Assistant Clinical Director.
  • Contribute to the development of individualized treatment plans for patients and their families.
  • Provide after-hours on-call services in rotation with other Recovery Specialists.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in accordance with compliance expectations.
  • Advocate for community resources and assist in the development of essential services for patients.

Qualifications:

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience in the human services field with one year of experience substituting for one year of education.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work with persons experiencing mental illness or emotional disturbance.
  • Ability to react effectively in diverse human service situations.
  • Successful completion of background checks including KBI, SRS Child Abuse Check, Adult Abuse Registry, and motor vehicle screens.

Requirements:
  • (1) Have at least a BA/BS degree or be equivalently qualified by work experience or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education with one year of experience substituting for one year of education;
  • (2) possess demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to work with persons with severe and persistent mental illness and/or severe emotional disturbance, and the ability to react effectively in a wide variety of human service situations;
  • (3) meet the specifications outlined in the CMHC licensing standards in regard to any ongoing requirements (as in completion of training requirements according to a curriculum approved by the Division of Health Care Policy); and
  • (4) pass KBI, DCF Child Abuse Check, Adult Abuse Registry and motor vehicle screens.
  • (5) Must demonstrate competency in the use of technology including computers, various software applications, printers, scanners, telephones, etc. Must also demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement, to include understanding and application of technology (hardware, software, equipment and processes).
