Qualifications
JOB SUMMARY
The Security Engineer is responsible for configuring, securing, and proactively monitoring security solutions across our managed customer base, ultimately protecting their sensitive data. They will also be responsible for developing security standards and best practices that continuously improve the security posture of these organizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee managed customer deployments and provide proactive maintenance to reduce exposure and risk
- Monitor and immediately respond to alerts generated by HPN security tools
- Develops relationships and maintains consistent interaction with customers ensuring service satisfaction
- Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes, and agreed outages/maintenance windows
- Responsible for following the day-to-day NOC policies and procedures
- Recognizes and recommends operational improvements to leadership that enhance our security posture, and value to our customers
- Vendor coordination for any new virus definition update, incident/outbreak in the network, etc
- Stay up to date on IT security and on the latest methods attackers are using to infiltrate computer systems
- Research new security technology to decide what will most effectively protect their organization
- Work standard shifts and provide after-hour and weekend on call support when required
- Cross-train and support other HPN aaS solutions when required
- Other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to be a self-starter and work in a team environment
- Driving world class customer service and satisfaction
- Escalate service issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels
- Awareness of customer nuance and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals
- Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
- Responsible for entering time and expenses in ConnectWise as it occurs
- Work through a daily schedule that has been established through the dispatch process
- Review IT publications and online materials to remain up to date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED
- 3 years of relevant experience managing Endpoint and/or Email Security solutions
- Understanding of Endpoint Security, Networking, Mail Flow, and Windows OS is required
- Working knowledge of Cylance or Mimecast is a plus
- Managed Services experience is a plus
- Professional interpersonal skills such as: telephony skills, communication skills, active listening, and customer-care
- Ability to diagnose complex security incidents
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
- Service awareness of all organizations key IT services for which support is being provided
- Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
- Self-motivated and positive attitude with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
