Pay Range: $29.00-$39.00/hr (based on experience and certifications)

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity. Our goal is to help individuals and families achieve personal change and improve their quality of life.
High Point has programs offering Section 35 services for individuals that have been civilly committed to Substance Use Treatment. Services include Acute Treatment Services (detoxification) and Clinical Stabilization Services. These programs are staff secured units, not locked.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5 – 8 years facility maintenance experience;
- 3 – 5 years supervision or management experience;
- Valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
- Possess knowledge and skills needed to provide maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs to facility utility systems (electrical, plumbing, boilers, HVAC and other plant equipment);
- Possess carpentry and building construction skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Compliance with federal regulations, 42 CFR part 2, Confidentiality of alcohol and drug abuse patients and HIPAA;
- Participate in and ensure compliance with SRN/HPTC Policies and Procedures;
- Ensure that all codes and standards are in compliance with local, state and federal agencies;
- Prepare for and review all site visits and inspections conducted by Joint Commission, DPH, DMH, etc. and any other authorities having jurisdiction and take immediate action to correct any deficiencies;
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the program’s ADA/504 Self-Evaluation Plan and Annual Updates;
- Conduct scheduled emergency response trainings and drills for all staff;
- Conduct and/or contract scheduled tests and inspections for all fire control and detection systems and equipment and ensure that all documentation is current and accurate;
- Conduct scheduled facility maintenance and safety inspections;
- Service and maintain the emergency generator and cooling tower;
- Ensure that the facility grounds and amenities are maintained in safe and attractive conditions
- Perform minor electric, plumbing, HVAC and building repairs;
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all maintenance, lawn care, housekeeping and floor care equipment;
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all refrigeration units and other electrical appliances;
- Perform minor door alarm and lockset repairs as well as all other aspects effecting the security of the facility;
- Perform minor telephone and computer wiring;
- Ensure voicemail system is current;
- Ensure that service contracts are in place for the treatment plant, plumbing, electric, HVAC, septic/grease, fire control, pest control, emergency generator, trash removal, hazardous waste removal, med room and perimeter and pharmacy alarms, document destruction, propane and fuel oils, exhaust hood cleaning and snow removal;
- Monitor all contracted work for completion and safety and verify insurance compliance;
- Prioritize and schedule all repairs and projects in a timely manner;
- Conduct job specific fire and safety trainings;
- Be fiscally responsible for all department activities;
- Control maintenance inventories;
- Ensure that material safety data sheets are on file for all chemicals used within the facility;
- Prepare and submit department payroll;
- Conduct monthly departmental meetings and submit minutes to the VP/COO. of inpatient services;
- Attend and participate in mandatory trainings and committee meetings;
- Interview, hire, orient and conduct annual reviews for department staff;
- “On call”, 24 hours a day;
- Other duties and projects as assigned by the VP/COO or Site Director.
