Outpatient Program MA Level Clinician

Program / Location : Outpatient Program / New Bedford

Education / Licensure : MA degree in Counseling, Mental Health or other related field or Licensed

Pay Range : $70,200 - $80,080 (experience dependent)

Status : Full Time or Part Time

Schedule : Mon - Fri; typically 8am - 4 : 30pm; Shifts might require evening and weekend hours.

Outpatient substance use disorder and mental health services are located across Southeastern Massachusetts in Brockton, New Bedford, and Plymouth. Services are provided during the day and evening hours. We offer individual, group, medication management, and family services to address diverse clinical needs. An interdisciplinary team of professionals includes licensed social workers, mental health clinicians, Master's level clinicians, certified addictions clinicians, psychiatrists, medical physicians, and psychologists. This collaborative nature ensures that patients have access in real time to the services that they need.

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity. Our goal is to help individuals and families achieve personal change and improve their quality of life.

Clinician Requirements

  • Must present as courteous and professional at all times
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAHO`s electronic medical records
  • Must have the ability to work with others in cooperative and collaborative manner
  • An understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and / or self-help programs
  • An understanding of boundaries and ethics
  • Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations and best practice processes and protocol in the provision of highest quality client care
  • TB screening
  • Certification in the HPAO approved de-escalation program
  • CPR Certification (minimum one per shift, all staff on IPS)
  • Ability to engage and maintain a therapeutic relationship with clients.
  • Knowledge of major clinical therapeutic models and behavioral health best practice
  • Knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria
  • Clinician Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide direct services to clients, which will include but not limited to evaluations of clients; Individual, group and / or family counseling, crisis management, and aftercare planning;
  • Comply with all chart documentation in a timely manner;
  • Participate Multidisciplinary Treatment Team and Utilization Review;
  • Assist in development and updating of clinical and psycho- educational programs;
  • Participate in supervision as scheduled;
  • Maintain and document collateral contacts with other community organizations as needed, including probation, parole, DCF etc.;
  • Submit reports to collateral contacts as required;
  • Facilitate appropriate referrals and follow up as appropriate;
  • Utilize standard precautions at all times;
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients / clients as defined by the patient's right;
  • Attend all unit, facility meeting and case conferences as director by Supervisor
  • Attend mandatory training;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program / Clinical Directors and / or COO.
  • Clinician Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in related field or Licensed;
  • 2 years experience working with substance use disorder populations;
  • Bi-lingual a plus!
  • Licensed preferred!
