The Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) located at the Brockton Meadowbrook Campus has opportunities for growth within the outpatient, community based, and Adult Crisis Stabilization programs. Patient Access Coordinator Qualifications
Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experienceExperience within a medical or behavioral health setting preferredExperience in medical scheduling and coding preferredPatient Access Coordinator Duties & Responsibilities
Respond to requests relative to outpatient admissions inquiresAbility to coordinate psychiatric medication appointments with patients to meet prescription needsCoordination with staff to address concerns related to medication prior authorizations, urine drug screening and other outpatient related needsEnters all fields as available in the pre-admit screen and intake assessmentVerifies eligibility and benefits with appropriate insurance carrier. Completes flow sheet for private / commercial insuranceObtain faxes in according with HPAO policy prior to admissionScan all necessary paperwork and distribute accordinglySchedules patient in bed management and monitors bed management for vacant beds as needed to support Central Intake team after-hoursMake appropriate referrals to other agencies, when necessaryAssist staff / patients in event of emergencyRemain informed of current information concerning HPAO polices / proceduresNotifies supervisor of any significant event and / or information which concerns the outpatient access teamMaintain clean and orderly work environmentAssists in orientation of new employeesAbility to respond to TTYManages after hours calls for all outpatient sites and appropriately responds to identified crisesCompletes preadmission screening and schedules clients for all outpatient sites with appropriate clinicianConsults with Medical Director / COO of Outpatient / Practice Manager / designees with regards to concerns with referrals for admissionsUtilize standard precautions at all timesDemonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients / clients as defined by the patient's rightAttend all unit, facility meeting and case conferences as director by SupervisorAttend mandatory trainingOther duties as assigned by identified supervisor(s)Patient Access Coordinator Requirements
Must present as courteous and professional at all timesExperience in hospital or medical settingPossess good telephone mannerDemonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasksMust have excellent communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashionKnowledge of basic computer skills and software programs including the ability to learn, use and train HPAO`s electronic medical recordsMust have the ability to work with others in cooperative and collaborative mannerAn understanding of the relationship between substance use and mental health issues and / or self-help programsAn understanding of boundaries and ethicsComply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA RegulationsTB screeningCertification in the HPAO approved de-escalation programCPR Certification
