What are the responsibilities and job description for the MHA Program Full-Time Open Rank Faculty position at High Point University?
This is a full-time, 12-month faculty appointment with administrative duties in the fully online MHA Program. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience and qualifications at the time of hire. In conjunction with the MHA Director, the position will be responsible for participating in CAHME accreditation preparation, student advisement, and programmatic evaluation. The faculty members will engage in teaching, scholarship, and service activities consistent with the requirements of the Department of Medical Sciences, Congdon School of Health Sciences, and High Point University faculty. Consistent with the High Point University Faculty Handbook, the typical 75% teaching load is 24 credit hours each academic year, or 12 credit hours per semester. The start date is June 18, 2025, and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Key Responsibilities:
Refine course syllabi and teach in areas such as Healthcare Management, Business Planning, Human Resources in Healthcare, Legal and Ethical Considerations in Healthcare, Operations Management, Strategic Management in Healthcare, and Healthcare leadership and professional development. Active participation in the development of strategies to ensure CAHME accreditation, a continuous flow of highly qualified student applicants into the program, sufficient to grow the program and encourage independence. Foster effective communication between the University, Schools, Department, faculty, staff and students. Assist with development and application of effective assessment strategies for curricular and programmatic improvement, ensuring program learning outcomes are achieved. Teaching, service, and scholarship within a collaborative environment. Maintain effective assessment strategies for course and curriculum improvement.
Ensure student learning outcomes are met and implement best educational practices in teaching and mentoring in a fully online environment. Engage in professional development and affiliation with State and National Healthcare organizations, such as the American College of Healthcare Executives and the North Carolina Healthcare Association, the American Hospital Association, AUPHA, and CAHME. Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance public relations of the MHA program through institutional, local, regional, and national media reports, public appearances, and social interaction. Foster curricular and instructional approaches that recognize differences in individual learning, which encourage problem-solving, and that facilitate the acquisition of competencies and skills in the most efficient and effective manner possible.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A doctoral degree in Health Services Administration, Healthcare Economics, Healthcare Leadership, or a related health discipline from a regionally accredited institution and 5-8 years healthcare executive experience. Prefer Fellowship in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) and CAHME affiliation preferred.

Preferences will be given to candidates with a teaching focus in one or more of the following healthcare areas: Healthcare Management, Business Planning, Human Resources in Healthcare, Legal and Ethical Considerations in Healthcare, Operations Management, Strategic Management in Healthcare, and Healthcare leadership, and professional development. In addition, preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated success in healthcare organization leadership positions.
