What are the responsibilities and job description for the Package and Delivery Coordinator position at High Point University?
The Package and Delivery Coordinator will be responsible for scanning received packages, delivering mail and packages on campus to different departments, as well as making deliveries to UPS, FedEx, and USPS for outgoing mail. This position also assists with other Mail Center duties as needed. The hours for this position are from 9am – 6pm (time allotted at the end of day to uphold mailing deadlines).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Experience and Training:
- High School Diploma
- Valid NC Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- Excellent interpersonal skills to relate directly and effectively with the public
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to successfully manage time
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receives, scans, and distributes all student/staff/faculty packages to appropriate campus departments.
- Performs other Mail Center duties/responsibilities as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Daily delivering packages and letter mail to Faculty, Staff, and different departments on campus as well as collecting outgoing mail and packages throughout the day.
- Daily delivery to the United States Post Office, Federal Express, and United Parcel Service every afternoon to unload all outgoing mail collected.
- Responsible for maintaining and delivering packages to our Smart Lockers in North College, Village, Slane and Panther Commons throughout the day.
- Responsible for helping with scanning and logging packages delivered by USPS, UPS, FEDEX, Amazon and other carriers.
- Potential help with using the Mailing Machine to add postage to outgoing mail
- Must follow and keep up the standard of service High Point University expects in all its employees: respect, open communication, punctuality, accountability, organization, etc.
- Assist with other Mail Center duties/responsibilities as needed
- May require lifting or carrying of 50lbs or more, assistance will be provided as needed
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- The Package and Delivery Coordinator is responsible for ensuring timely delivery of student/faculty/staff packages to all departments on the University campus.
