Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Part Time Semi Driver, Grain Hopper to join our team. Most grain is hauled from farm to processors within 20- 50 miles of bin sites. This job may be 5 days a week for several weeks, or a month without anything moving. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting grain safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various types of trucks, including manual transmission vehicles.
Duties
- Drive our Volvo trucks and grain hoppers
- Load and unload grain as required, ensuring proper handling of materials to prevent damage.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with owner and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport.
- Operate grain facilities and augers as necessary for loading and unloading tasks.
Experience
- Proven experience as a truck driver.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Ability to load and unload grain safely using appropriate equipment such as augers.
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in transportation.
